In Danish tradition gnomes known as Nisse live under the floor boards, they help out farm animals and humans and protect them from misfortune. But if you annoy them, they can play tricks on you. On Christmas eve, many Danes still put out a bowl of hot porridge (Risalamande) on the doorsteps for the Nisse to enjoy, to keep them friendly in the year to come. Here are my knitted Nisse xxx
