My home

bedroom redesign part 1 – a considered approach

I’ve taken pictures of my bedroom in previous blog posts which I liked but felt very temporary and unfinished. I like the minimal style, as you know, with minimal style there’s maximum attention to detail so I’ve got a big job on my hands. Plus the interior designer in me is screaming out for a new project! I’m too scared to show you what the bedroom originally looked like when we moved in, horrific,  maybe I’ll save that for the grand bedroom redesign reveal.

For this bedroom redesign I’d like to focus on creating a neutral, minimal space that doesn’t shout renter and has a lot of impact. Also focussing on being more conscious of the products I buy, that of good quality and honest materials. I hate the throw away culture so it’s very important that I’m able to bring my items where ever I move. Adaptable, high quality and timeless.

Here’s a little temporary solution for a corner where I used to hang 2 towels. Now hosting the most beautiful Georg console desk by Skagerak that I’ll be using as a dressing table. The area isn’t fully designed yet and take note my Georgian townhouse is super wonky that the desk could partially fit in. Perfect dimensions to fit almost all of the way but I wasn’t expecting the wall to twist, whoops. Not to worry. I’ve temporarily added 2 spare shelves from the living room and a  poster tube to pack the area out. It looks intentional. artistic and kinda cool! haha

I’ll continue to work on this corner and the rest of the bedroom redesign but refuse to buy nick-nacks to ‘dress it’. I’ll only use items that I love and will use for years to come. It’s a great start!

Such a beautiful design, I spotted it at Stockholm furniture fair and fell in love! You’ve created a really lovely calm corner and love your considered approach to design x
