friday five | searching for the perfect coffee table

I’ve been a little slow in furnishing my living room, one year in the new rental and I still don’t have a coffee table. I may be indecisive but I’m wary about waste and I refuse to buy a temporary table. This new coffee table HAS to be the one that I take with me where ever I live next. Finding adaptable furniture to suit multiple spaces is a difficult one hence why I’ve been a bit cautious. Not to mention choosing a design that won’t date, built to last and can stand my wine stains as I refuse to use coasters.

Simple forms and clean design is the theme. From top left is the Around table by Muuto, absolutely beautiful in light grey, £425 (72cm diameter). A more affordable grey coffee table would be the Bella table by HAY, designed especially for the Bella Centre in Copenhagen, £175 (60cm diameter). The white round Tablo table by Normann Copenhagen is nice and bright, easy to clean with the top made from a plastic composite, maybe wine proof? £300 (78cm diameter). Another great product from HAY is the low Elephant side table£165, perfect for smaller spaces. Lastly a coffee table I had to mention, the Turning table in white oak by Menu, combining the table with storage in an elegant and minimal way, £350.

Searching for the perfect coffee table is fun, I think it’s time for me to decide……BUT you’ll have to wait and see what I get. What would you choose?

I have been looking for a coffee table over a year. The ones I like are glass top ones but unfortunately we do like to treat the coffee table a bit like a foot stool as well so need one that is solid enough for that 🙂
The turning table would be my table of choice if my living room was a bit more minimal!

Great selection! Think I would have chosen the last one by Menu, love the idea of putting things inside to declutter.

A lovely selection! I’ve always found coffee tables the trickiest thing to source – they’re the natural focal point of a room, yet finding one that fits with everything else can take ages! x

I love the first one, it’s gorgeous! It’s true, it’s really hard to find the right coffee table – too big and they’re a pest and too small and they’re a bit pointless! I’ve only just discovered this beautiful blog and I love it, bravo x
