Menu Space – the grand opening during 3 days of design

During the press tour of Copenhagen’s 3 days of design festival, I was delighted to attend the launch of Menu’s new creative co-working space and café. Menu Space is located east of city in the developing area of Nordhavn. This area is developing from what was primarily a working harbour, now also offers housing, hotels, business spaces, showrooms etc. I previously spent a week in STAY Seaport just around the corner and there were no coffee shops in sight. If only Menu Space was open then, I would have been there everyday!

As I sat down for dinner together with Danish designers, architects and the press, co-founder of Norm Architects and Menu’s Design Manager Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen gave an introduction about the space. He explained that Menu Space has been created to offer a well designed co-working environment and café for the public and local businesses. The space will be evolving over the years with various designers invited to curate Menu’s space in their own way. I’m very excited to follow these changes.

Walking around, I discover an awesome meeting room and plenty of cosy, stylish places to sit. Oh how I love concrete rooms…. This industrial backdrop is a complimenting and impressive environment for Menu’s beautiful products. To end this very special evening we were treated to a private performance by the Royal Danish Ballet. I’ve never been to the ballet before so this was incredibly special to me and so beautiful to watch. A magical evening for a magical place.

What beautiful photos. I love the way the dancer’s dress almost mirrors the lampshade. Stunning. Looks like a very special event with loads of thought put behind it.

What an incredible space! And I love the dancers – the flowing dresses contrast so beautifully with the sharp angles and textured walls.

How pretty is the ballerina within the sharpness of the room. The table settings are so satisfying to look out, everything neatly together!

I just love an industrial style interior! It’s a beautiful space and it looks like the event was beautiful as well.
