Stay Copenhagen – the Atelier XL apartment

Back again at the wonderful design hotel Stay Copenhagen, for this visit I booked the impressive Atelier XL apartment. I previously stayed in the Copenhagen Loft XL and was wowed by the minimal style and space, I just had to come back.

Stay Copenhagen is situated in the area of Islands Brygge close to the centre of Copenhagen.  This converted warehouse is now made up a collection of spacious design apartments, with 8 different styles and all focussing on a comfortable minimalism. Each apartment is designed by HAY design and furnished with their wonderful products too.

I was awestruck as I entered the apartment. The sheer space (135M2) was striking with 3 balconies, 2 dining tables and 2 sofas, lounge area, fully fitted kitchen, utility area and large bathroom. A very minimal space but with touches of comfort, I felt ready to move in.

The design of the apartment is open plan with the bed facing tucked away in the corner and facing into the living area. In typical Danish style there were separate duvets , a concept I now love, a perfectly grey kingsize bedspread connected the two duvets and extra dot cushions simply dressing the bed.

Storage was ample. At the foot of the bed and a wall of wardrobes to the left of the bed, which led on to the bathroom.

The kitchen was fully equipped with a Fridge freezer, oven, dishwasher, hob and included pots, pans and plates etc. I had the space to entertain a family, with 2 dining tables we were spoilt for choice where to sit. I chose to have one table for dining and the other as a desk. Why not?!

At the end of a busy day running around Copenhagen it was bliss to crash on the sofa in the living room area.

Stay Copenhagen is located 10-15minutes walk from the closest metro station. STAY also offers bike rental, which I recommend as it’s SO much fun! and the perfect way to discover the beautiful city of Copenhagen.

Having spent two nights in this incredible apartment I was surely sad to leave. I will be back again.
