10 Wallpapers that make you go ooooooo

Wallpaper is such a nice way to transform a room. It applies colour, texture and dimension to the room. Prices can vary hugely, take into consideration how much of the wall you need to cover, for example if it is just either side of the chimney breast then I would prefer to use a higher priced wallpaper, for a whole room I would then go mid-range.

My view is to treat your walls with the same respect as flooring. I have had clients that are willing to spend around £3000 on flooring and then not even consider spending any more than £40 on the walls. Then sending the builders to the local hardware store to colour match a Farrow & Ball paint (one of my many pet hates), it never looks as good. With a introduction of wallpaper with high quality paint is such a impressive and professional finish. I mean, seriously, I don’t expect the exact same costs as flooring but cheap walls look cheap.

With that in mind I have been on the hunt for some new wallpapers that I think can revamp any room. From luxurious to fun and funky these ten float my boat.

1 – Hackney Empire Wallpaper by HOUSE OF HACKNEY

Price – £148 per roll. Coverage 5.4 sq m2

When I saw this paper for the first time I wanted to lick it. I got excited. The description from the House of Hackney’s site says it best…

“Luxury maximalist wallpaper featuring a carnival of animals amidst animalistic debauchery in a riot of colour against a midnight blue background.”

Quite pricey but am I bothered? No. The coverage is good, you can easily do 4 drops with 1 roll. The design looks as good as artwork itself so all in all, it’s a must!

I can not say anything bad about this wallpaper it IS utterly beautiful and if you’ve not seen it up anywhere, please go and check it out!!!

How can I not include Viv! She has not failed us here. Beautiful shades of grey with mauve, silhouettes of roses. It should  be screaming girly but it doesn’t, the almost graphic inspired print has a hint of masculinity and edge.
