coffee in the studio with Stelton

I love coffee and drink a lot of the stuff. I’m quite particular about the quality of coffee, freshly ground of course and perfectly brewed. When searching for coffee making products the designs can be quite varied and mostly not that pretty. Though, after my trip to Copenhagen and meeting designer Francis Cayouette, I was pretty wowed by the new Theo range that he designed for Stelton. The range is simple in form and made from matt black Scandinavian stoneware, why wouldn’t you love it?! Over the last few months I’ve been collecting some key coffee making items and mostly with the help from Stelton. You can expect pretty coffee pictures from now one, I have no excuse!

Here I’ve picked out a few key items that I think any design and coffee lover would love in their life.

Emma Electric Kettle

I’m constantly reaching for the kettle and this kettle is a beauty. Designed by Sebastian Holmbäckand and Ulrik Nordentoft from their design studio called HOLMBÄCKNORDENTOFT. The Emma kettle is part of Stelton’s collection called Danish Modern 2.0. Among the range are designs inspired by the golden age of Danish design in the 50’s and 60’s.

The Emma kettle has beautiful lines and I love the soft grey tone with wooden handle. It makes the design of a kettle so much simpler and softer than the standard kettle.

Collar coffee grinder

Everyone should have a coffee grinder whether it’s a manual grind like this one or an electric one. Freshly ground beans make all the difference! The Collar coffee grinder is designed by Italian duo Daniel Debiasi and Federico Sandri, bringing a modern spin to a design classic while keeping a Scandinavian aesthetic. Ingeniously the coffee grinder comes with a screw cap, if you’re that person who brings their own coffee grounds to work for example. I’m thinking of the boyfriend here as he actually does this!

Theo ‘Slow Brew’ (drip) and milk jug

One of my favourite coffee methods is making a drip/filter coffee. The Theo Slow brew jug comes with a filter funnel and wooden lid and made easier to pour with a silicone collar. Both the slow brew and milk jug are made in the same Scandinavian black stoneware as the french press.

Theo French Press

Featured in the top and bottom of this post, this french press is the most beautiful I’ve seen and used. I’ve broken SO many glass french presses in my time, I thought that I needed something more robust. The simplicity of the Theo french press makes a beautiful silhouette, both rustic and elegant.  A great feature of this french press is that the spout catches the drips! What a bonus!

Stelton’s Collar and Theo range stand out from the crowd with dark, simplistic, minimal forms, functioning as the perfect equipment for the home barista. I’m excited to increase my coffee making skills!

How do you like your coffee?

Oh I want them all! Am definitely trying to be more ‘authentic’ with my morning coffee rituals now I’m working from home much for – less machine capsules, more slow drip. Will definitely have to invest in one of these! xx

That kettle is now on my wish-list. It’s simple black design is definitely more preferable to anything I’ve had before. x

Like all above I want them all too. Dare I ask if they do a collection in light pastel tones? You’ve just reminded me I’ve got to go off to buy Christmas coffee at Harrods. They do the best aromatic coffee there x

I love that kettle so so much. How beautiful. I might have to invest in a grinder too, as I’m back into coffee again these days

Oh yes, it’s definitely got to be ground for the best cup of coffee. Love the look of the Emma kettle.
