Formex – Stockholm design exhibition 2013

This August was SUPER exciting as I had the opportunity to go to Sweden’s design fair FORMEX for a research trip. Cool eh?! I’ve wanted to go to this fair for a while now, not only an excuse to come to Sweden but to finally see the majority of my favourite brands all underneath one roof (then maybe a few extra days enjoying the city).

There’s so much to say about this show, everything from trends, companies that I discovered, amazing new products, beautiful scandinavian people, styling ideas, new materials, oh and did I mention the beautiful people? yeah I did sorry, they are pretty though!

Here’a a little snippet of what I saw…….

As you can probably tell, I have loads more images but I think these sum up the show.

In short the trends I saw beaming through were

*Geometrics

*Copper

*Industrial minimalism contrasting with hand made crafts/artisan accessories (wicker/bamboo, textiles, ceramics etc)

*Pastel colour palettes with a pop of bold colour.

Oh there’s so much more, I feel that this deserves an additional trend blog post. 🙂
